Skippable if you're in a hurry.I like that jeans are an easy fashion choice for everyday out-of-the-house wear in that we've all more or less decided on them, but what if ........ fuck jeans? What if I went to a Goodwill and bought a pair of suit pants and got the length altered? I always remember suit pants as being comfier and more breathable, but I don't know if I'm talkin' crazy talk here. Who has opinions; please slide them this way. βπ

Also skippable if you're in a hurry or don't care. No judgment.Quentin is developing language at what seems to be a shocking pace. Two examples that readily come to mind:1.[a plane goes by overhead as we sit in the kitchen]Q: Plane!J: That's right, buddy!Q: Heared it!J: You did hear it, huh?Q: Heared it.2.J: [blows into a slightly deflated beach ball to puff it back up again]J: [seals it and hands it to Q]Q: [puts his mouth on the same spot and makes blowing noises]Q: Quentin blowed it!J: Sure you did, pal!Is he actively conjugating verbs or just somehow imitating what he hears? I'm leaning toward the former only because neither of us have ever used verbs in the way he is, but I don't know if I'm unironically passing into "My Son Is A Perfect And Beautiful GENIUS" territory or what.

I read a lot of newsletters; here are some links that caught my eye.
I believe simultaneously that we need to be aware of the apparently soul-crushing working conditions at Amazon fulfillment centers and also that I'm getting tired of reading about them. I contain many contradictions, I don't know what to tell ya. (The Outline)
Self! Assembling! Spacecraft! (Eventually!) (TechCrunch)
If you have to amplify and speed up the vibration the rock makes in order to get it to be audible to humans, is it ........... really making a sound? The expansion and subduction of tectonic plates can probably be represented as waveforms that could be mathematically manipulated to create something like sound, but does that mean the planet is making noise? (Outside)
There's a mode coming to future TVs that'll turn off all that stupid motion-smoothing bullshit with the touch of a single button, which is great for the future, but what about the rest of us chumps stuck in the present? (TechCrunch)
Huh: undertourism, AKA "why don't you visit this other site that's less well-known." (NYT)
Letting the headline do the talking on this one: "Japan is a Trumpian paradise of low immigration rates. Itβs also a dying country." (WaPo)
Actually, speaking of Japan, deer are going literally buckwild there and it might be high time to bring back wolves. (Atlas Obscura)
That ominous tweet from DARPA makes more sense if you look at this website for their Subterranean Challenge -- the 48h timeline was probably to prevent any participants from running to a site months in advance and making detailed maps and such. (website)
What happens if you get dust or dirt of any kind on your Vantablack BMW, though. (Dezeen)
You want a good long-ish read from someone who tried Goop's bullshit nonsense for a month? I thought you might. (Atlantic)
Plastic bag taxes do some good, it turns out. (Vox)
Do plants have language? Am I going to make a joke about The Happening in here? Probably not, but only because I never saw it. (NYT)
